With insights honed from his technical background and a master’s degree in computer science, Rogaczewski illuminated the potential of AI to transform societies for the better.

Delving into the future of energy and energy trading, Helle shared invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of energy markets. As we navigate through fluctuations influenced by global events like the war in Ukraine, understanding the predictive nature of these markets becomes paramount. Furthermore, learning about Danske Commodities’ strategy and Helle’s leadership style was enlightening. Their tech-driven approach is crucial for ensuring adaptability and foresight in this dynamic industry.

Peter shared insights into quantum networks, strangeness, and complexity, as well as his company, Sparrow Quantum. Notably, Sparrow Quantum has achieved the world’s highest light-matter coupling efficiency. Peter’s work focuses on developing quantum hardware, such as single-photon sources and photonic quantum gates, with applications including quantum computers and quantum key distribution. It was an enlightening session, highlighting significant advancements in quantum technology.

Starting as three founders working out of his home until the first iteration of the product was ready, Klaus took us through the steps of continuously evolving the company to offer new products in new areas and staying competitive. He further explained how Trackman have done things in a different way than many other new companies, both regarding taking in capital, but also in terms of refraining from using advertisements to sell their products.

The lecture, titled “Programming ≠ coding,” was an exploration into the art of software creation. Lamport walked us through the stages, from defining a program’s purpose to the intricate coding process, all illuminated by the elegant world of mathematics. Furthermore, Leslie emphasized the significance of computer scientists’ ability to think mathematically.

Mette explained how the partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI will revolutionize our workflow. She also touched upon their extensive research into Quantum Computing in partnership with Niels Bohr Instituttet and Novo Nordisk, something so secretive that she is not even allowed into the room.

With a short intro to his own studies as a student at DTU some 20 years ago, Thomas explained what kind of threats are present in Denmark and how the Military Defence Intelligence Agency (FE) work to mitigate hackers from gathering intelligence or committing frauds and cybercrime on danish territory.

Explaining the business model of MobilePay and why it proves to be so difficult in Europe to get a profit with mobile payment solutions. Claus also unfolded the decision to close WeShare, that it was either risking jail time or closing the app that had been neglected by the team for over 7 years.

“Chemistry is in everything we see and everything we touch” - Morten Meldal said in the beginning of this lecture. A lecture where he explained what click chemistry is and some of its many use cases. Through the lecture, Morten also shared some stories from his trip to Stockholm, where he attended the Nobel ceremony.

Anja joined us for an interesting evening just two days after she left her 23 year long career in Dell Technologies. She explained that Dell is much more than just laptops and monitors. She explained some of the strategic decisions they have made between cloud and non-cloud servers and gave some good advice to students that are interested in management at a very high level.

Kasper went the startup way straight out of university. Kasper was keen to explain that you rarely strike gold on your first startup, that it typically takes a few tries before you find yourself with succes. After both Podio and Peakon got acquired, he now finds himself in a new role as investor in climate and education - two areas where he sees an enormous change for the future generation.

Showcasing how Seaborg Technologies are rethinking nuclear technology, Troels explained how their technology differentiates from typical nuclear reactors. The new technology is set to be both safer and cheaper and are expected to cost about the same as other renewables.

Discussing product to market fit in an emerging market and explaining the 10 year journey of Mdundo, Africa’s biggest music provider aiming for 50 million monthly users by 2025.

Nicolas discussed how BLAST have scaled their business to be a world leader in their industry branching out their business to include multiple platforms and streams.

Discussing how Maersk have implemented technology, Navneet touched upon rethinking physical services and goods in a digital context, using Maersk as an example. Navneet gave us insight into the real difficulties big companies face when restructuring, and how to rethink systems in order to incoorporate data-accumulation for making data-driven decisions.
